My love affair with books and horses began when I was eight years old. Over the years, other responsibilities and paths took me in many different directions, but reading and writing remained my passion, and horses still have a special place in my heart.

My second biggest love affair has always been with nature and the beauty that fills every facet of our world. Through the eye of my camera, I've been capturing that beauty since I was ten years old. Finally, I've had the time and opportunity to actually "do" something with my photography, and share it with more than my family and friends.

Last, but definitely not least--being outdoors has always included gardening in some form or another. As a young mother, I tended a small vegetable garden with the help of my toddlers; later my interest moved to landscape gardening and the limitless possibilities therein. As an "information junkie," I was compelled to learn everything I could about horticulture and the living world around me, so in 2006, I joined the ranks of Ohio State University Master Gardeners for Muskingum County here in Ohio. With that came the obvious next step--writing about it!
